There are industry events. And then there are the ones you're still talking about three weeks later.
RSVP in Mayakoba was the second kind. A few days on the Mexican Riviera that managed to be equal parts inspiring, indulgent, and genuinely, unexpectedly fun. The kind of thing that reminds you why being in this industry is pretty incredible.
It started the way it should, with a welcome that meant it. Noche de Bienvenida in El Pueblito was alive with colour, with live Mariachi, with the kind of warmth that doesn't come from a production team, it comes from a place. Mexico doing what Mexico does, pulling you in immediately, making you feel like family before you've even found your seat. Whatever nerves or travel fatigue anyone walked in with, they didn't walk out with it.
The next day shifted gears. Keynote speeches and education at the Fairmont Mayakoba, and honestly, this is what the best events know how to do. Give you space to actually think. The speakers brought the kind of content that sticks, the stuff that rides home with you in your head and shows up in your work months later. It's easy to gloss over the education portion of an event like this. RSVP didn't.
That night, the Night of the Jaguar at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba. If Noche de Bienvenida was warmth, this was something wilder. Dinner under the trees alongside traditional tribal dances and performances that stopped every conversation in the room. The food was extraordinary. The entertainment was extraordinary. The combination of both, somehow, made the whole thing feel like something between a celebration and a ritual. One of those nights that's genuinely hard to describe to someone who wasn't there.
Then a beach day. Networking, sun, and the kind of loose easy energy that only shows up when people have already spent a couple of nights together and the formality has burned off. No agenda, just the water and good company and the slow, satisfying feeling of a trip hitting its stride.
That evening, the resort split everyone loose — a dining experience spread across multiple restaurants, your pick, your pace. We found our way to a steak dinner that deserves its own mention. The kind of meal that makes you quiet for a moment and just appreciate it.
And then Glowbrije.
The final night. The one they clearly saved something for. A fully themed closing event that was exactly what you want at the end of something this good. Loud, colourful, and completely committed. The energy of a room full of people who have spent days building real connections and are now just letting all of it go. On a dance floor. In Mexico. On the last night.
RSVP, we'll see you again.
